Welcome 9M!

Today we'll think a bit about blogging and why people do it.

Some blogs to look at are:
http://room22phs2014.blogspot.co.nz/ - a primary class blog
http://millersenglish10.blogspot.co.nz/ - a secondary class blog

http://anangelinthegarden.blogspot.co.nz/ - a crafty home-maker type blog

Tasks:
1. Answer the questions in your workbook about 3 blog examples that you like.
2. As a class, decide what our rules for commenting on our blog will be, and note them down in your workbook.
3. Leave a comment telling me where the word 'blog' comes from.

Managing your digital footprint

It is becoming increasingly important that we keep our digital footprint 'tidy'. Our footprints, or whatever we 'leave behind' on the internet can stay there forever, and once posted, we lose control over who sees it.

Once posted you lose it - http://youtu.be/CE2Ru-jqyrY

Please comment -
1. Which video did you like best and why?
2. One thing you didn't already know
3. One of the rules you have set for yourself about managing your digital footprint

Nifty web-searching tricks

Please leave a comment telling the class about one cool Google trick that you discovered recently.

This can be a fun thing like google gravity, or a sensible thing like the calculator.

What is the internet made of?

This is a 'before and after' task - I want you to leave a comment having a guess about what you think the internet is made of before we learn anything about it, and then after learning about the internet leave a comment again - hopefully we will be able to see that you learned something!
